Benjamin Robert Prince, affectionately known as Benny, passed away on April 3, 2025, at the age of 77. This beloved son of Homer, Louisiana, was born on March 31, 1948, to the late Hershel "Buck" Robert and Melvie Ruth (Gantt) Prince. Benny lived a full life that was intimately tied to his love for the great outdoors.
A fierce passion for hunting and fishing emerged early in Benny's life, nurtured during his time at Louisiana Tech where he met lifelong friend Phil Robertson. The two shared a bond forged in the woods, often prioritizing their adventures over academics. Their stories of frolicking through the forests and fishing in nearby waters became legendary among friends. In fact, Benny was known for his daring spirit, having once skinned and processed deer right in his dorm room-a testament to his commitment to his passions.
