Lily Bird found the perfect way to kick off the 2023 high school track and field season this past Thursday. She simply wrote her name into the Eastland High School history books.
Bird shattered the Lady Mavericks’ school record in the 3,200-meter run at the
Breckenridge Relays on Feb. 23. The EHS standout shaved 6 seconds off the school’s all-time best time in the 2-mile race by legging out a time of 12 minutes and 56 seconds.
