The regular meeting of the City Commissioners of Eastland convened on Monday, April 21st at 6:00 p.m.
Commissioner James Doyle gave the invocation and Manager Savannah Fortenberry led the pledge There was no public comment. made too late to be presented but the sales tax dropped in April slightly but was up for the year. And that the utility fund brings the balance down for the city.
The Commissioners then took in consideration and discussion: funds to help support the Bankhead Community made the statement, giving the city thanks for their continued support. Stating that the current Children’s Programming Director Hailey Hurst from Ranger is moving out of the county in May, the need is to attract a new director and to expand Friday at 6:00 p.m. on June 13, after a day camp. A licensing cost for $775 for the production is needed as well as lodging/per diem etc. for the suggested director of “Willy Wonka Kids”. The commissioners approved the request for $5,525.00 with Carol Jones making motion and Richard Rossander seconding.
