We have to be better than this
For the most part, I’m proud to say I’m from Ranger. I’m proud of the fact that my parents raised me in “The City of Flowing Gold” and where there really was “Never a Stranger in Ranger). I’m Somewhat proud of the fact that I flunked Mrs. Brister’s English class (and most of the other teachers’ classes, too. I never said I was a great, or very interested, student), and that (former RHS coach) Jackie Stephens helped me become an awardwinning journalist.
I’m proud to know that my mother (Faye) and father (Bobby), along with my brothers and sisters, are buried there. It is the place I waved bye to when I enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and the place my children were born. It is the place She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Made-Mad and I will rest in eternity some day (hopefully many years from now).
