CITIZENS OF CISCO: I have read three editorials by James Freeman. Apparently, the editorials are the opinions of James Freeman and Ross Honea. I do not know James Freeman, but I do know Ross Honea. This editorial is written in support of both of them, and their opinions.
I have been a citizen of the City of Cisco twice. Once was from 1971 to 1985, when we moved to the country in Eastland County. In 2002, we moved back to town. I have kept up with the doings of the City for 54 years through this newspaper and through word-ofmouth. I raised a family here, was employed here, etc. I have definite opinions of the workings of the City.
I voted against ever forming the Cisco Development Corporation, (known as the CDC in this editorial) and I must say I have never changed my mind. The CDC was supposed to have brought industry to Cisco, and jobs for the citizens. In almost 50 years, that has not happened. I have seen individuals that have been helped by the CDC, and I have seen some who appeared to have taken advantage of the CDC, and then they were gone. I believe many that were helped already lived here, and took help from the CDC. That is nothing against those people. Anyone would take free help.
