It is time for summer fun at the library. This year’s theme is Color Our World. This year’s events will be held on Thursdays in June beginning at 2:00 pm.
Thursday, June 5th, 2:00 pm - The Creature Teacher - this program will be at the Lyric Theater. The Creature teacher shows exotic animals. At the end the audience gets to pet some of the animals Thursday, June 12th, 2:00 pm - Dinosaur Valley - this program will be at the Lumber Yard Event Center in the pavilion area. Park Rangers from Dinosaur Valley will share information about dinosaur fossils found in the Glen Rose area. At the end, there will be a dinosaur bone dig.
Thanks to a grant from the Texas Library Association and HEB we will be able to offer two LEGO group meetings. They will be offered for four Wednesdays beginning on June 11th. Participants must sign up to attend. Children in 2nd to 5th grades will meet from 11:00 am 12:00 pm and may sign up at this link https:// bit.ly/43YAKAr Those who are in 6th - 12th grades will meet from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm and may sign up at this link bit.ly/4mzPX31 The children will also read for prizes. The children will receive a bookmark beginning on June 3rd. After 7 days of reading, they can return the bookmark for a Dairy Queen ice cream cone (while supplies last), a brag tag, an entry form to put in the drawing of their choice, and a new bookmark. The prize drawing will be held on Thursday, July 10th. They do not have to be present to win. Age eligibility is 1 years old to 18 years old.
