It may have happened before but the feat is really quite rare! I am writing about a husband and wife who have both been the head coach of athletic teams who have won State championships at the same high school. Last week the Grandview Lady Zebras captured the Texas State Softball Championship in Austin. In 2019 the Zebras football team won a State Championship. The football team’s head coach is Ryan Ebner. Ryan played college baseball at Ranger College and McMurry and is a McMurry graduate. Leigh Ebner played college softball at Ranger College and North Eastern Oklahoma University and earned a Masters degree from Tarleton State University. Leigh is the head coach of the Lady Zebras. Along with their coaching duties the Ebners are raising a couple of boys. Easton is the oldest having just graduated from high school where he excelled in athletics and Knocks is the younger son, about to enter high school. Eastland County Today salutes our two alumni on their outstanding accomplishments.
