BROWNWOOD – Beginning Wednesday, July 30, 2025 (weather permitting) TxDOT’s contractor, Wagner & Co. will begin the districtwide application of seal coat to state roadways throughout the Brownwood District. The district includes Brown, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Lampasas, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba and Stephens counties.
Sealcoat is a layer of liquid asphalt which is topped with small rocks. This is applied as preventative maintenance to seal cracks, increase traction and prolong the life of the roadway.
The project will begin in Stephens County, with the following locations:
