Two graduating Gorman ISD students, Emma De La Cruz and Garrett Blakney, received the Kay Larae Jarrett Watson Scholarship.
Emma De La Cruz is the daughter of Maria Guzman. Her activities in high school included Student Council, National Honor Society, Basketball, Track, Softball, and Cross Country. She participated in Band, Academic UIL, FFA and served on the yearbook staff. Emma’s plans for the future includes pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Garrett Blakney is the son of Mike Blakney. His activities in high school included Basketball, Baseball, Track, Tennis, and Cross Country. Blake’s future plans include pursuing a degree at Cisco College and becoming a firefighter.
