The Eastland Chamber of Commerce hosted a Meet & Greet at the Connellee Hotel Lobby, East Room Wednesday with U S Congressman Roger Williams (TX25). Eastland business, industry, healthcare and community representatives were among those attending.
Congressman Williams has served for 15 years and is a local businessman from Parker County. Willams is chair of the committee of Small Business and the banking committee which oversees the federal reserve. The regulations for banks have been lifted and is making doing business easier, he noted. Williams also oversees the SBA and is correcting issues there and things are improving. For example, limits are now expanding to 5-10 million for expansion and improvements for businesses. Williams predicts that in Nov. the Federal Interest rates will be cut to bolster the economy.
Congressman Williams gave the “DC report” and conveyed that things are greatly improving in D.C. since the change in administration in Nov. 2025. He reported, for one, that streets of our nation’s capital are safer, and last week was the 1st week in decades that no homicides had occurred. Williams believed it was the right thing to do to bring in the National Guard to secure the District of Colombia and other large unsafe cities.
