Mavs suffer 29-0 loss to Coleman

The Coleman Bluecats scored 13 points in the first half on Friday and then held on to claim a 29-0 victory over the Eastland Mavericks in the 2025 season opener for both squads. Over all, Coleman amassed nearly 300 yards of offense in front of a large crowd at Hufford Field in Coleman.

Eastland, breaking in a new offensive scheme under head coach Matt Landers, hurt themselves throughout the contest. The Mavericks, who rolled up 136 total yards in the contest, turned the ball over five times, includ ing four fumbles.

C jumped on top late in the first quarter. Af ter forcing an Eastland punt, the Bluecats reeled off six plays before CHS quarter back Hunter Edington hit Jayden Smith in the end zone with an 18yard strike to put the Bluecats up 7-0.
