Above is a picture of the new stage at the Gorman City Park. I want to publicly thank our City Manager, Tacy Warren, for making all of the arrangements for our new stage to be built, especially for recruiting the volunteer labor. It is awesome and was well used during our Peanut Festival last Saturday. She was well assisted by Joni Ettinger, our utility Clerk. They are not only responsible for the new stage but decorating and cleaning up after the festival but selling festival tee-shirts. Joni actually designed the shirts. She did a great job! Many thanks also go out to Shawn Boles and Darin Clark for their work on the stage and all the others that helped. I know Gustavo Gutierrez and his son and Tyler Johnson also worked on the stage. There are so many other people that helped with decorating and other things that make the Peanut Festival possible every year for which I am thankful. Last, but not least is Jeff Young and city crew that got the park and downtown area ready for the festival!
Special Thanks to Stanley Ford in Eastland for supplying a beautiful new truck with driver Amanda Brown to drive me and the Commissioners in the parade and all of the other participants in the parade!
