By Tommy Wells, Tailynn Cherry and the young Ranger Lady Bulldogs turned in a solid showing at the Region II-III-1A Cross Country Championships on Monday at the Harold Patterson Sports Complex in Arlington. The RHS girls, featured five underclassmen, powered their way to 23rd in the overall team standings.
A freshman, Cherry paced the Lady Bulldogs on the 3-kilometer trail. She legged out a time of 15 minutes, 25.03 seconds and finished 69th in the individual standings.
Fellow freshmen Alaina Mendoza and Dixie Ewing also did well in the 155-runner field. Mendoza powered her way to a time of 18:04.99 and took 136th. Ewing checked in at No. 144 with a time of 18:57.84.
