From the Gorman Mayor

I hope everyone around Gorman received at least two inches of rain like we did at the house. Everyone in town and in the county needed rain. I noticed that the new storm drains are working. It shouldn’t be long until they are all installed.

We met with TXDOT last week and we discussed several safety issues they are going to address. Our primary concern was the intersection of Highway 6 and Kent Street. Kent Street to the north is closed this week while the storm drains are installed in that area. But when it reopens we will have some additional signage on Kent Street warning of the stop sign on Highway 6. There will also be some radar speed town. We also discussed poor visibility at all of the highway 6 intersections due to barricades or equipment and TXDOT has addressed that issue with the contractor. TXDOT is as concerned about our safety as we are and are doing all they can to make things as safe as they can. My thanks go out to TXDOT’s Jordan in addressing these safety issues so promptly!

How about those seem to be getting better each week. I know they appreciate your support attending their games. We are the favorite this week against Ranger. Hope you all make it to the game!
