Mrs. Tank's Bingo was another huge success on October 29th at the Myrtle Wilks Center in Cisco, marking 25 years of happy times. Mrs. Mildred Tankersley taught in public schools for 36 years and then started having bingo parties in the year 2000, when she retired from teaching. She has many friends and sponsors, who help with the effort. The lunch started at 11 a.m. and with a menu of beans, cole slaw, cornbread, and tea. Local businesses providing food were canned beans from Brookshires, coleslaw from Chicken Express, and tea from JS's Deli. Several friends baked cornbread muffins.
Musical entertainment included Debbie Brinkley's gospel songs with a karaoke machine and Pastor Dale Wilbanks with his guitar.
A treasure trove of prizes were provided by Mrs. Tankersley and her friends.People from area nursing homes were invited to attend as well as interested senior citizens. Mrs. Tankersley plans to have another bingo party next spring for happy guests to enjoy.
