Art Professor Jodi Frizzell of Cisco College is always delighted when her former students go on to create art out in the real world. Tessie Aldridge is a good example, not only of talent growth but also of overcoming a personal challenge.
Graduating from high school in 2022, Tessie had studied art as a Dual Credit student for Professor Frizzell before enrolling full time in Cisco College and earning her Associate of Arts degree.
A month before she finished high school in Abilene, Tessie suffered an accident which temporarily altered her way of life. “I got tossed off a raft at Lake Fort Phantom, and I just managed to perfectly hit my back,” she said. “I severely herniated one of my spinal disks. And so I had to use a wheelchair and cane for a long time.”
