Ranger City Library had the pleasure of Beverley Whitis’s company two days in a row last week! Beverley is the daughter of the late Joe and Polly Alexander of Ranger.
Joe Alexander had an interesting military career but we knew him as the manager of the Ranger Junior College cafeteria. He seemed the quiet type. His wife, Polly, on the other hand, was NOT the quiet type! Polly brought pan lids to Ranger games and banged them together and made a big ruckus – high school AND college games. She was a HOOT! Back in about 2010, she was our Roaring Ranger Day Queen and she wore her crown with style.
Polly passed away on November 12th at the age of 92 and Ranger sadly lost another icon. Her generation is/was an outstanding generation.
