Constance “Connie” Kitto Ziehr, of Austin, TX passed peacefully from this life into the fullness of Life with the Lord Jesus on December 2, 2025. Born on September 27, 1932, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Connie was raised in Winnfield, LA, and later, Baton Rouge, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Science from LSU. Connie was intelligent and encouraged her family to be “lifelong learners”. On August 25, 1957, also in Baton Rouge, LA, Connie was joined in Holy Marriage with Rev. Richard Ziehr of Cisco, TX. God blessed their union with three children, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and over 66 years of joy together in marriage. Professionally, Connie began work for Dow-Chemical in LA, and later as a Medical Transcriptionist at the White-Wilson Clinic in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, where she lived for 40 years. A devout Christian, Connie's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She utilized her passions and abilities to serve the Lord by volunteering as a church librarian at both Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Shalimar, Florida, and Hope Lutheran Church in Grayton Beach, Florida where she introduced many to Christian literature. Her love of sharing books continued as she volunteered at Clayton Elementary Library in Austin. Connie loved a wide variety of music but especially enjoyed singing in church choirs to the glory of God. Additionally, she held a deep appreciation for classical music and Grand Opera and her adventurous spirit led her to make multiple trips to see the magnificent performances of the Metropolitan Opera both in Atlanta (on tour) and New York City, an experience she cherished deeply. Connie will be remembered as a loving and faith-filled mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who was eager to serve and to share Jesus. She was a Spirit-filled woman who lived her life with purpose and grace, touching the hearts of many.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband Richard in January of 2024 and she longed for their joyful reunion.
