Lady Mavs tied for final playoff spot heading into final stretch

The Eastland Lady Mavericks head into the final days of the 2025-26 basketball season with the playoffs a real possibility. The EHS girls begin the weekend’s action tied with Peaster for the fourth playoff berth in the District 8-3A race.

Both Eastland and Peaster are tied at 5-6 in district play. The teams split their two head-to-head games in district, meaning a third winner-take-all district playoff could be on the horizon if both squads finish the regular season tied.

The Lady Mavericks, now 12-10 overall, kept the pressure on Peaster last week by splitting its two district games against Breckenridge and Tolar. The EHS girls defeated Breckenridge, 34-27, on January 29. They suffered a 5925 loss to Tolar the following day.
