The Eastland Lady Mavericks moved a step closer to the postseason on Friday by grinding out a 32-27 victory over the Dublin Lady Lions.
With the win, Eastland moved to 1311 for the for the season. More importantly, the EHS girls improved to 6-7 in district play. The team sits in fourthplace in the district standings, one game ahead of Peaster.
The Eastland boys suffered a tough 9833 loss to the Dublin Lions on Friday in a key District 6-3A showdown in the Marshall Gym.
