Poetry For Those Who Are Scared of Poetry

Cisco Writers Club invites you to an informal writing class: Poetry for Those Who Are Scared of Poetry. The class will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Hilton Center, 309 Conrad Hilton Blvd., Cisco, from 7 to 9 p.m.

There will be poetry book giveaways!

Presenters Priscilla Bettis and Shann Tajiah will start with a simple American Sentence Poem and build step-by-step to a more formal, syllabic poem. We’ll also discuss the importance of word order and invent playful, new words. A short analysis of a famous e.e. cummings’ stanza will give us insight. Finally, Texas poet Shann Tajiah will take us through the writing process she uses to pen one of her exquisite poems.
