Most of the area’s top track and field athletes will converge on Eastland on Thursday for the running of the 2023 Maverick Relays. The meet will get started at 3:30 p.m. at the EHS track.
Among the EHS stars that will be looking to garnered a gold medal will be sophomore pole vaulter McKenna Fambro. She is coming off a record-setting effort last week at the Angela State University Spring Break Invitational last week. At the March 16 meet at LeGrand Stadium in San Angelo, she posted a personal-best mark of 8 feet and finished fifth in the girls’ pole vault standings. Among the area teams scheduled to participate in the meet are Cisco, Breckenridge and Merkel.
