Please join us on Saturday, March 28, from 1–4 PM at The Lumber Yard as we celebrate Neda Housson’s 95th birthday and her many years of dedication as the director of the Housson Childcare Center.
Neda didn’t just raise four children of her own— she helped raise many other children in Eastland County. For years, little ones passed through her door on Oaklawn Street and into her heart. Her late husband, Joe, shared that same love for children and took great joy in the daycare as well.
Many will remember the daycare’s beloved traditions: Easter egg hunts with the Easter bunny, clowns and Big Bird doing the chicken dance, participating in the annual Old Rip parade with creremembers the old woman who lived in a shoe), Santa Claus arriving on the dren dressed as angels and shepherds singing Silent
