Two Cisco College students, Madeleine Palomo and Arina Dzhuldieva, co-editors of the Wrangler Express, represented the college at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA) convention held in Denton this past weekend.
They also brought home an award for Sports Writing by a previous editor of the Wrangler Express, Rhiley Morgan-Montoya. She won second place in the Sports News Story category for her story “Two Cisco Cowboys Bring Home Nearly $150,000.” Morgan-Montoya was editor of the Wrangler Express in the Spring of 2025. A rodeo student from Colorado, she moved on to Tarleton State University after graduation from Cisco.
The Wrangler Express, formerly a print newspaper, is now Cisco College’s student-run social media publication on Facebook and Instagram. It is published daily during the fall and spring semesters by students in the Mass Communication and Journalism courses taught by Professor Linda Spetter.
