On today’s Rip’s Report, host Levi Freeman visits with Passion Play organizer Martin Esquivel and Father Joseph Pudota, pastor of the Eastland County Catholic churches from the Diocese of Ft. Worth about this year’s Good Friday Passion Play.
This community effort started with a small Passion of Christ at the church that has grown to a large effort by members of the community. Betty Galvan, who has portrayed Mary, the Mother of Jesus spoke to Eastland County Today. Betty, has lost a son in her life and said “If people could see what I see…my feelings like Mary as a Mother watching the pain, the suffering of the baby she gave birth to. “How could they hate an innocent man?” Betty feels it every time the Passion is practiced and performed.
