Celebration of Life
Calfrieda “Bootie” Catt Escobedo was called Home on April 4, 2026. Bootie was born on May 5, 1948, in Cherokee, NC to Cornelia and David Catt. Bootie was a full-blooded member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She belonged to the Yellowhill community and the Wild Potato clan.
She moved to Cisco after marrying into the Escobedo family. She raised 3 children and was employed by several different industries, such as the Vassarette and at Victor Cornelius. She was best known for her work as a cook. Bootie also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and helped friends as she could. In her early years she enjoyed playing softball, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
