Patsy Calun Huber, a cherished soul, peacefully departed this life on May 12, 2026, at the age of 94, at The Woodlands in Eastland, TX. Born on June 7, 1931, in Rotan, TX, she was the loving daughter of Russell S. and Mary Cecil (Ellison) Sutton. A devoted member of the Baptist faith, Patsy found strength and solace in her church community, particularly at Union Center Baptist Church.
Patsy was known for her independence and quiet strength. Growing up on a family farm, she embraced a life that was deeply rooted in hard work and simple pleasures. For 72 years, she called the farm home before moving to Eastland, where she continued to cultivate her love for family and community. Although she relinquished her car and driver's license at the age of 75, her spirit of independence remained strong.
Patsy's passion for nursing allowed her to touch countless lives in the medical field during her younger years. In her leisure, she found joy in the details of life-watching home shopping networks, especially QVC, and indulging in her crafts like embroidery, which she lovingly passed on to her granddaughter, Sarah. Her warm heart and gentle spirit were evident in her devotion to family, especially her two beloved grandchildren and great-grandson.
She is survived by her granddaughter Sarah Cotton of Midland, her grandson Christopher Jon Cotton and his wife, Carise of Alamogordo, NM, and her great-grandson, Arie Christopher Cotton. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband C.R. Huber, and her only son, Ron Cotton.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Edwards Funeral Home - Eastland. While there are no services scheduled at this time, those who knew and loved Patsy will have the opportunity to commemorate her remarkable life and the lasting impact she has left on each of them.
