Marvin Bartlett officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. A time of visitation was held on Friday, March 27, 2026, in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home.
James Brent Barron, 69, of Jefferson, TX passed away peacefully in his home on March 19, 2026. James was born on August 31, 1956, in Stephenville, TX, to A T Barron and Ruedelle Brunson. He grew up in Crosby, TX, where he participated in 4H, FFA, and football, as a nose tackle for the Crosby Cougars. He even dabbled in bull riding. James was led to the Lord by his Stepfather, Smokey, at an early age. He loved the Lord throughout the rest of his life. James attended Tarleton State University and graduated with a degree in agriculture and business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and managing a small farm. One of his greatest loves was his family. He loved to spend time with his Mother, children, and grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his father, A T Barron and stepmother Dorothy, his stepfather WJ "Smokey" Moreau, sister Lisa Barron, his first wife Michelle Samford Barron, and his special friend, Patsy Shelton-Harmon. James is survived by his precious Mother, Ruedelle Brunson Moreau of Crosby, TX, brother Mark Moreau and wife Sue of Crosby, TX, brother Alan Barron and wife Leeann of Eastland, TX; his second wife Brenda Evans Barron and stepson Brian Prater, both of Weatherford, TX. His precious children, Rachael Barron Chapa and husband Enrique Jr., their children Lydia and Enrique III "Trey" of Dallas, TX; daughter Linda Barron Elkins and husband Wesley, and their daughter, Samantha "Sami" of Needville, TX; his son, James Brent Barron II, and wife Janet Barron, along with their blended family, Jeremy, Brooke, and Katie, and their spouses and children. A special granddaughter, Vanessa Barron, daughter of James Barron II, who cared for him especially, along with other family during his time of illness. A host of family and friends that he loved very much. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James' honor to Central Baptist Church, Marshall, TX or your local church.
