Commissioners Sympathize With Solar Farm Opponents

But Say County Power is Limited

By Linda Spetter The Eastland County Commissioners at their regular meeting Monday, June 8, accepted a petition with more than 250 signatures from county residents opposed to solar farms. Although solar farms were the main item on the agenda, the issue data centers and transmission towers in comwho spoke in front of the commissioners’ court.

The commissioners listened to the speakers and sympathized but said in reality, little can be done on the county level to stop solar farms or any high-tech establishments due to lack of jurisdiction, eminent domain, state law, and the threat of lawsuits.
