Head Football Coach Charlie Rizzio of Cisco College and his Wrangler athletes will face a big challenge Aug. 20 when they play the Hutchinson (Kansas) Blue Dragons, who are projected in polls to advance for the fifth time since 2020 to the NJCAA national finals.
The Aug. 20 conference game is set for 7 p.m. at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson.
“Talk about a powerhouse, when it comes to NJCAA football, it’s Hutch and Iowa Western, and everybody else in the country is fighting for 3rd and 4th place. Every single year, right? The top four make it to the national playoffs,” Rizzio said. “To say we have a challenge, week one, would be an understatement.
