County Commissioners Adopt Proposed Tax Rate; Accept Proposed Budget; Hear Citizen Concerns

A number of agenda items were discussed and approved at Monday’s County Commissioners Court before addressing two items - reoccurring each year - and of upmost importance: Items which can generate long discussions with concerned citizens. These included adopting a proposed tax rate and accepting the proposed budget.

The proposed tax rate was adopted without further discussion. Commissioners adopted a proposed 2026 maintenance and operations property tax rate of 32.9500 cents, and a proposed 2026 debt service tax rate of 0.7891 cents with a total proposed 2026 tax rate of 33.7391 cents.

The proposed budget was also accepted.
