Why does the publishing industry call August the "Dead Month"? Because it's the month when agents and editors traditionally go on vacation. So instead of sending your manuscripts to agents who are hiking in the mountains, or trying to work on revisions with editors who are at the beach, you might want to consider some more productive August endeavors.
