Regional Emergency Preparedness Leaders to Gather in Brownwood for 2026 Conference
BROWNWOOD, Texas — Emergency management professionals, first responders, healthcare leaders, educators, government officials, nonprofit organizations, and private-sector partners from across the region will gather Thursday, September 10, for the 2026 West Central Texas Emergency Preparedness Conference at the Brownwood Event Center Complex. The annual conference brings together organizations and individuals responsible for preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters. The event provides a regional forum for training, information sharing, professional networking, and strengthening partnerships that support preparedness and community resilience throughout West Central Texas. This year's conference will be held at the Brownwood Event Center Complex, 601 E. Baker Street, Brownwood. Conference activities will run from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Presentations and breakout sessions will address topics relevant to emergency preparedness and public safety in West Central Texas, including natural and human-caused disasters, healthcare preparedness, cybersecurity, school safety, emergency communications, volunteer management, interagency coordination, community resilience, and emerging threats. Attendees will have opportunities to learn from subject matter experts, exchange best practices with regional partners, and explore resources, technologies, and services supporting emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Exhibitors and vendors will also provide opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing. The conference is open to emergency managers, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel, healthcare and public health professionals, school personnel, elected and local government officials, volunteer organizations, military personnel, critical infrastructure representatives, privatesector partners, and others involved in emergency preparedness and disaster response. Registration closes September 2, 2026. General registration is $50. Late registrations will be accepted at the door as availability allows.
