Eastland County Commissioners Court adopted a new Burn Ban at Monday’s regular meeting by a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays. The new Burn Ban became effective September 28, 2026 and will remain in place until December 28, 2026, unless restrictions are terminated earlier based on a determination by the Texas Forest Service or the Court. Eastland County residents are hoping for relief from the heat and drought this week with rain expected beginning Wednesday. This might also impact the status of the County Wide Burn Ban.
County Auditor Loretta Key presented Eastland County’s Cash balances as of Sept. 24th, 2026: General Fund $2,008,170.00; Road & Bridge - $488,011.33.
The Court’s Fiscal Year is coming to a close as of October 1st, which marks the beginning of the new FY 2027. A special meeting has been called to consider FY 2026 Cer-Revenue and 2026 Budget amendments, as well as Accounts payable, on October 1, 2026 @9AM.
