Linda Mae (Cagle) White passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at her home in Jacksboro, Texas. She was 78 years old. Linda was born on February 2, 1948, in Gorman, Texas, to Jarl Dean Cagle and Mary Lee (Overstreet) Cagle. Linda originally married the love of her life, Joe E. White, on July 22, 1963, in Mexico, secretly for only $25. They were married officially in Olden, Texas, on September 21, 1963, which is their celebrated marriage date. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. In 1981, Linda and Joe moved to Jacksboro, Texas, where they continued raising their family and building their lives together. Linda worked as a secretary for Jacksboro ISD for 27 years, where she became a beloved member of the faculty and staff. She was also deeply involved in her community and was always willing to give her time to help others. She served on the Jack County Child Welfare Board and was involved with the Jacksboro High School band concession stand and she instructed the JHS Flag Corp. She was also involved with The Canteen in the 1980s and worked at the Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce and Farm Bureau office. Linda was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also loved reading and gardening, but most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. Linda had a giving heart and found many ways throughout her life to serve, encourage, and care for those around her. Her kindness, warmth, and love for her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Joe White; her children, Misty Sherrod (Mitchell), Joey White (Lisa), and Casey Bear White; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ronnie Cagle and wife Ann, Bobby Cagle and wife Sandy; sister-in-law, Nelzane White; along with other extended family members and friends. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas. The family will have a private burial at Graves Cemetery in Jack County, Texas.
