Panthers last Friday. May reeled off seven straight touchdowns and raced to a 50-0 victory over Gorman in a key District 10-A showdown at Tigers Stadium. With the win, the Tigers improved to 1-7 for the year, but more importantly, put the Panthers’ postseason hopes in peril.
Gorman, now 5-3 overall, slipped into a tie for second in the 10-A standings with May. However, should the two teams finish the season with identical district marks, the Tigers would have the head-to-head advantage. May is scheduled to play Ranger this Friday beagainst Lingleville. Gorman will face off with Lingleville this weekend before closing out its regular season with a trip to Gordon Oct. 30 to face the three-time defending six-man state champion Longhorns.
