It Seems To Me
It Seems To Me
The political atmosphere of our country saddens us when elected leaders disregard the fundamental rule of law and put aside our Constitution. Something within us says: this can’t be happening to America”. Our place in the world is weak and former allies have made pacts with those that hate us. Millions of Americans are not better off than they were two years ago. Politically, we suffer from paralysis of analysis. We’ve analyzed the problems over and over until we are sick of hearing. We’ve heard a hundred times that: “the border is no longer secure; we’re not energy independent anymore; inflation is crippling us”. Why not rally around one who knows how to correct it? 04/06/2023 12:00 AM

Boots and Bling 2023: Phenomenal Community Support
The annual Eastland Memorial Hospital Volunteers’ Boots and Bling Charity Ball took place at the Lumberyard in Eastland on the evening of February 11, 2023. Boots and Bling has been a popular fundraiser for the hospital and the Volunteers. The Volunteers put a tremendous amount of effort into making it a success. James Doyle of Spanky’s Catering served a delicious meal that was followed by a fundraising auction conducted by David Bailey from First Financial Bank. Afterward, everyone enjoyed the fellowship of the evening with a live band and dancing. Thanks to the phenomenal support of the community, the Volunteers cleared $58,500 after expenses. Since 2007 the Eastland Memorial Hospital Volunteers have raised and donated $573,159 to Eastland Memorial Hospital to purchase new, state-of-the-art equipment. The Boots and Bling Charity Ball is their biggest annual fundraiser, and this year was no exception. 03/30/2023 12:00 AM

The largest oil camp in the world was built in SE Cisco, called Humbletown. Cisco was a very progressive city and had developed many public works, funded largely by Bonds. 03/30/2023 12:00 AM
