Sherry Annette (Wright) Massey

SherryAnnette (Wright) Massey, age 74, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 1, 2023 in Dallas, TX.

She was born in Gorman, TX on June 30, 1948 to Burl Gene Wright and Virginia Nell Wright.

Sherry graduated from the University of Texas Arlington College (UTA) with an English degree and was an amazing teacher for over 24 years before retiring. She worked as a teacher HEB ISD, as well as Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. She was well respected among her peers and loved by her students. Sherry was an avid Dallas Stars fan and loved watching college football. Sherry enjoyed traveling and going on adventures with her family and friends! She had a huge love for animals! She loved her dog Harley and four cats Fat Cat, Jade, Maisie, Boy Maisie, and was a big supporter of the ASPCA and other rescue groups. She was an amazing mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Troy Massey and wife Stacie of Austin, TX and Brian Massey of Dallas, TX; her nephew: Trenton Gene Wright who she loved dearly; six grandchildren: Brian Cody Massey, Emily Massey, Claire Massey, Jeannette Massey, Grace Massey, and Leigha Massey.

She is reunited in Heaven with her parents: Burl and Virginia Wright and one brother: Rodney Wright.

Funeral services are scheduled for May 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM Lake Leon Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Rhoton to officiate. Interment will follow at Gorman Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sherry's memory can be made to the Eastland and Ranger Animal Shelters.
