Cisco – Funeral Services for Billy Joe Whaley, Jr. were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Daugherty Street church of Christ in Eastland with Larry Ver non and Barrett Thoma- son officiating. Interment followed in Eastland City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in East land. A visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the funeral home.

Bill was born on May 2, 1959, in Midland, Tex- as, to Billy Joe Whaley, Sr. and Rhetta Jo (Gunter) Doss. He was employed with Oncor Energy for 41 years; in addition, he was a carpenter and elec - trician. Bill married Sue Lynne Maxwell on June 2, 2010, at the Botanical Gardens in Dallas, Texas.

Bill was a loving Christian husband and father who was a firm believer in choosing his own fam - ily. There was no distinc - tion among his children

whether biological, step, or in-law as he saw them all as his sons and daughters. As a husband, Bill was an amazing provider and protector who loved Sue with all his heart.

Bill's hobbies includ -

ed playing and coaching baseball, bull riding, fish - ing, riding his motorcycle, and cooking for others as he was an amazing cook who likely added several pounds to all of us.

Bill was a servant, men- tor, and teacher who had immense patience with all of us.

The things that mattered most to him was taking care of his family and be ing a grandpa.

ley and wife, Jennifer of League City, Caleb Gul -

ley and wife, Baillie of Abilene, Mackenzie Kent

and husband, Austin of Cisco, Lexi Jones and husband, Cole of Cisco, and Payton Whaley and wife, Cailey of Abilene; 11 grandchildren, Han - nah, Hailey, Olivia, Da - vis, Hudson, Korbin, Jett, Tripp, Jade, Jaxon, and Scarlett; a sister, Jolyn Knight and husband Jerry of Brownwoo d; a brother, Jeffrey Whaley and wife Terry of Edmond, Okla -

homa; and numerous

friends who were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Whaley, Sr. and Jo Doss.

Pallbearers were Rhett Whaley, Caleb Gulley, Payton Whaley, J. Ross Lacy, Austin Kent, and Cole Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers were Jeffrey Whaley and Jerry Knight.
