Barbara Ann Rutledge

RANGER – Barbara Ann Rutledge, 75 of Ranger, passed away Thursday April 27, 2023 in Ranger.

Services were held at 11 am Thursday, May 4th, at Mesquite & Rusk Church of Christ. Visitation was Wednesday, May 3rd, 5~7 pm at Edwards Funeral Home.

Barbara was born November 20, 1947 in Corpus Christi to William Walker and Edna Edwards Walker. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master’s Degree. She taught school at the Ranger ISD for many years. She married John A. “Buzzy” Rutledge on February 12, 1983 in Ranger. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2020. She was a member of the Mesquite & Rusk Church of Christ. She loved animals, collecting birdhouses and watching hummingbirds. She enjoyed playing the piano. Survivors include sons, Jeff Rutledge and wife Wendy, John Rutledge and wife Shandy, and Ronny Rutledge; 7 grandchildren, Katy Rutledge, Coy Rutledge, Ryan Gwinn, Harley Gwinn, Sidney Rutledge, Jake Rutledge, and Josh Rutledge.

Memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the Ranger Volunteer Fire Department.
