CISCO to be featured “Destination Days” city October 11th at Texas Heritage Travel booth during State Fair of Texas DALLAS— Over 24 days of the State Fair of Texas, Sept. 29–Oct. 22, 2023, more than 2.5 million visitors (2022 &gures, at https://bigtex. com/about-us/daily-attendance/) will attend from within and outside Texas. The State Fair of Texas, one of America’s largest, longest (since 1886), and most historic state fairs, provides a unique venue for the promotion of heritage tourism as a vitally important Texas product. And volunteers from CISCO, EASTLAND COUNTY will be there to greet them for one of those days, highlighting the events and attractions that make our community special. Volunteers will help sta< the Texas Heritage Travel booth in the historic GoTexan Pavilion, next to the State Fair Wine Garden and close to the Cotton Bowl. Eastland County High School Fishing
Eastland County High School Fishing Team had an absolutely amazing day on lake Granbury today. Out of 56 different schools and 200 teams we had 3 teams finish in the top 30. Brady and Scout finished in 1st place out of 200 teams!! Also, Eastland County as a team finished 2nd out of 56 as a team in the tournament! Congratulations to all of our teams!

Scranton Musical
The first Saturday musical at Scranton is October 7, 2023. Beth Bailey of Cisco is preparing a meal of Mexican bean soup and cornbread and includes tea or coffee with free refills. A selection of pies and other desserts are available. A donation of $7 will cover the cost of the meal. The food is served at 5 PM and music from friends in and around the Eastland area begins at 5:30. Please join us this Saturday evening for visiting friends, eating a meal together and enjoying great music!

First Methodist Eastland Church Ministries
First Methodist Church of Eastland would like to inform you about several ministries we have begun in our church. These ministries encourage attendance from community members and provide opportunities for worship inside the church and out in the community. Here are three ministries we would like to make you aware of: 1.) Reflect & Reconnect (also known as R&R): This service takes places in the Fellowship Hall at the First Methodist Church Wednesdays and begins at 5:30pm with a free meal that is followed by worship and testimony. 2.) Youth Program (6th –12th grade): We are proud to be officially opening our newly renovated youth building and are excited to be initiating a youth program that will begin on Sunday, September 24th at 5pm. The youth will have a meal provided by the church and will be led in worship, participate in Bible studies, play video games, embark on trips, and many other exciting opportunities. Any youth in Eastland County are encouraged to participate!

Rip Fest Coming FAST!
Rip Fest 2023 is fast approaching (Saturday, October 7) and the Eastland County Museum is gearing up for their third annual Beans & Cornbread Fundraiser. The serving will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 2 pm as long as supplies last. As in the past there is no charge but donations are gladly accepted and much appreciated!
