During the 2023 Texas Transportation Forum, held recently in Austin, the Brownwood District’s Interstate 20 Ranger Hill Realignment Project was recognized with TxDOT’s We Build Texas Design Award. Jason Scantling, Director of Transportation Planning and Development, accepted the award. The We Build Texas Project Awards, formerly the Texas Project Awards, recognize TxDOT engineers and designers, as well as small and large contractors who go above and beyond expectations. 2024 HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT APPLICATION PERIOD ANNOUNCED
The City of Eastland Historic Preservation Board has set the following dates for their 2024 Historic Preservation Grant period: Begin accepting applications April 3, 2023 through July 3, 2023. The board anticipates making recommendations from the applications to the City Commission at their regular September monthly meeting. The 2024 Grant period runs October 1, 2023 through September 1, 2024. Approved grants must be completed and reimbursed by September 15, 2024. 04/06/2023 12:00 AM

The City of Eastland, along with Waste Connections, has offered free bagged leaf pickups on the second and fourth Fridays of each month beginning in December. This service for the season will end on Friday, April 28, 2023. All bagged leaves must be placed at the curb no earlier than 24 hours in advance of a scheduled pick up. Residents must call Eastland City Hall at 254-629-8321 to be placed on the pick-up list at least 24 hours before a pick-up date. 04/06/2023 12:00 AM
