It Seems To Me

The political atmosphere of our country saddens us when elected leaders disregard the fundamental rule of law and put aside our Constitution. Something within us says: this can’t be happening to America”. Our place in the world is weak and former allies have made pacts with those that hate us. Millions of Americans are not better off than they were two years ago. Politically, we suffer from paralysis of analysis. We’ve analyzed the problems over and over until we are sick of hearing. We’ve heard a hundred times that: “the border is no longer secure; we’re not energy independent anymore; inflation is crippling us”. The City of Eastland, along with Waste Connections, has offered free bagged leaf pickups on the second and fourth Fridays of each month beginning in December. This service for the season will end on Friday, April 28, 2023. All bagged leaves must be placed at the curb no earlier than 24 hours in advance of a scheduled pick up. The City of Eastland Historic Preservation Board has set the following dates for their 2024 Historic Preservation Grant period: Begin accepting applications April 3, 2023 through July 3, 2023. The board anticipates making recommendations from the applications to the City Commission at their regular September monthly meeting.
