The Rising Star High School Wildcats had plenty to be happy about on Friday. The Wildcats rolled up more than 300 yards of offense and, more importantly, came out on the top end of a 57-50 slugfest with the Gustine Tigers.
Last year, the Rising Star High School Wildcats took a page from former Houston Oilers’ head coach O.A. “Bum” Phillips’ playbook and kicked on the door of respectability with a small (in numbers) – and young – roster.
Congratulations to these Wildcats on being Area Track Qualifiers! The Area meet was to be held Wednesday in Hermleigh.
It took the Rising Star Wildcats more than a century to land their first-ever college football signee. Wildcat fans didn’t have to wait nearly as long for their second.
