The Rising Star Wildcats suffered their first setback of the 2022 season on Friday with a tough 50-44 loss to Sidney. Rising Star started quickly, scoring on a pass from Jake Bell to Tristan Jackson on their first possession of the game. Jackson added the 2-point conversation to give the Wildcats an 8-0 lead. The Sidney Eagles came back, marching down the field to tie the score with 4:40 left in the first quarter.
The Rising Star Wildcats surprised the Blanket Tigers by taking a surprisingly easy 53-18 win on Friday night. Rising Star took the opening kickoff and marched down the field. Triston Jackson hit Dakota Higgins with a pass for the game’s first score, giving the Wildcats a 6-0 with 5:21 left in in the first quarter. On Blanket’s first offensive series, Higgins recovered a fumble deep in Blanket territory. Three plays later, Jackson ran in for the Wildcats’ second TD. He tacked on the 2=point conversion, and gave Rising Star a 14-0 lead.
The Rising Star Wildcats closed out their 2022 preseason with a bang this past week. The Wildcats downed Mullin by a 9-1 clip last Friday in their final tune-up scrimmage. The scrimmage was shortened due to heavy rain.
