Patriot Day Freedom Walk To Be Held September 11

The Ranger Veterans support Group will have a Patriot Day Freedom Walk on Monday September 11th at the Vietnam Memorial Park in Ranger. The program will start at 10:30 AM and be over at 12 noon. We will walk the perimeter of the park. It is too hot to walk down the hiway. Around the park it will be a lot cooler with the shade trees. 08/24/2023 12:00 AM

Recently I was in Abilene with two granddaughters (Laura and Leigha) on some sort of business and when it involved that time had slipped away, we just wanted to make one more stop— looked at the house where their late grandmother Gay Nell and I originally set up housekeeping. A G.I. eligible 2 bedroom on N. LaSalle where their late grandmother and I originally set up housekeeping on the north side where I had lived as an employee of the Reporter News— I had moved up from general reporter to Military editor because I had been in the Army and supposedly knew something about writing about Dyess AFB which was relatively new at that time. 08/24/2023 12:00 AM

Lady Bulldogs to play in Strawn tournament

The Ranger High School Lady Bulldogs will swing into full volleyball mode this weekend when they travel to Strawn to participate in the annual Lady Greyhound Volleyball Tournament.
