Cisco Goodfellows Need Your Help
Last year the Cisco Goodfellows helped over 70 families have a wonderful Christmas with boxes of groceries and toys for over 150 children. We are looking to assist even more families and the Goodfellows organization cannot accomplish that without the help of business and personal donations from the community. Please consider donating early this year, as Goodfellows will be distributing on December 16th.

2023 Wildcat Shootout December 7-9
The Rising Star Wildcats will host the 2023 Wildcat Shoot. The event is scheduled for December 7th, 8th and 9th at the Wildcat Gym The Shootout will feature both Girls and Boys teams. There will be teams from: Abilene TLC, Blanket, Azle Christian, Rochelle, Gustine, Panther Creek, Evant and Rising Star. Abilene TLC Girls and Blanket Girls will tip off at 9:00AM on Thursday to begin the tournament. Then the Boys teams from each School will play. There will be 8 games on Thursday.

The Eastland Lady Mavericks picked up another impressive win this past week by downing the Gordon Lady Longhorns by a 63-58 margin.

Mavs drop 4 in Haskell tournament
The Eastland Mavericks ran headlong onto a buzz saw this past weekend, dropping four straight games in the Haskell Invitational Basketball Tournament. With the loss, Eastland slipped to 2-4 heading into their Dec. 12 showdown with Glen Rose.

Gordon to face Westbrook in state title game
The Gordon Longhorns will make their first appearance in the six-man state finals next week when they face off against twotime defending Class 1A Division I champion Westbrook. The game will be played at 11 a.m. on Dec. 13 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The Longhorns enter the game at 140. They punched their way to their first title game appearance since 1999 with a 54-8 rout of Jonesboro on Saturday in Weatherford. Westbrook is 13-1. They defeated Happy 34-16 on Friday in Lubbopck.

Gorman storms past Bowie to win Silver Bracket championship in Breckenridge
Delila Crain and Kyndall Scitern both pushed in doubledigit efforts on Saturday and helped push the Gorman Lady Panthers to a 38-25 victory over the Bowie Lady Jackrabbits in the finals of the Silver Division at the Breckenridge basketball tournament.
