Cisco College Basketball Team Honors Favorite Teachers
Players on the Basketball Team at Cisco College honored their professors at halftime of Tuesday’s (Dec. 5) game with Coastal Bend College at the Cisco campus by presenting gifts. The gifts included a sports thermal mug and a squeezy “stress ball” in the form of a miniature basketball, with the Cisco College logo emblazoned on both.

Lady Panthers roll over Stamford, Hico
The Gorman Lady Panthers garnered double-digit efforts from Mariella Rodriguez, Hadli Hampton and Delila Crain on Friday and rolled to an impressive 40-33 come-frombehind victory over Stamford in non-district basketball action. The win marked the seventh time this season the Lady Panthers have defeated a program from a Class 2A or higher program. Stamford, which is coached by former Strawn mentor Joe Crabb, got off to a fast start. The Lady Bulldogs posted a 12-9 run in the first eight minutes of the contest.

Mya Wesley pumped in 25 points and Jacie Holt added 17 more last week and carried the Eastland Lady Mavericks to a 58-51 victory over the Anson Lady Tigers in non-district basketball action.

Cisco College Basketball Team beats 2022 National Champs
The Cisco College women’s basketball team pulled a surprising upset Thursday, Dec. 7, by defeating Tyler Junior College 67-64. The TJC Apaches had won the national junior college championship in 2022 and had a 7-3 record so far.

Eastland County Retired Teachers Meet
Eastland County Retired Teachers met Monday, December 11 at the Eastland Connellee Hotel. President Gail Norris introduced Larry and Cyndie Mace who presented Christmas melodies through solos and duets while accompaying themselves on guitar and keyboard. An outstanding rendition of “Mary Did You Know” received a standing ovation.
