Aren’t we a funny people? Do you ever laugh at yourself? Apparently if you say “bless his heart” or “bless her heart” it frees you to gossip all you want about another person. “Bless her heart” she tries so hard on making the turkey and dressing”, which means you could have done better. “Bless his heart” he just never learned to iron a shirt”, which means, you aren’t going to Wal-Mart till he changes his shirt. And if you preface your response to another person’s statements with “I’m just saying”.

Tea Party Patriots of Eastland County invites you to meet Terri Hall, the founder and director of San Antonio-based Texans for Reform and Freedom (TURF) and Texans for Toll-Free Highways. Terri will speak at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 10, in the Big Dam Room of the Myrtle Wilks Community Center, 1498 West I 20, Cisco. Terri Hall has long been politically aware, but in 2005 she learned the Texas Dept of Transportation (TxDOT) was to convert her only access to San Antonio, Hwy 281, into a tollway.

The 16th Annual Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by the EMH Volunteers is coming soon. This year’s tournament will be held on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at Lone Cedar Golf Course/Kingdom Course at Lake Leon. The Tee off Time is 8:30 a.m. The purpose of the tournament is to raise money to be used toward purchases needed for local healthcare at Eastland Memorial Hospital.

Eastland County Water Supply District Winner of Best Tasting Water Contest!
ECWSD’s Superintendent and operators attended the Texas Water Utility Association’s Central West Texas 54th Regional Annual School in May of this year. They took this opportunity to enter the best tasting water contest with a sample straight from the plant and won. This win will allow the district to enter the contest at the state level in September during the TWUA 105th Annual School. The district board of directors would like to contribute this win to a strong dedicated team which includes the District Superintendent, Plant Operators and Staff. ECWSD has worked hard and diligently over the last few years alongside Enprotec/ Hibbs&Todd to produce the best quality water possible from the plant and will continue to strive for excellence.
