RSID Students work on Sewing Projects
Our Family and Community Service class (taught by Mrs. Keierleber) has been working on some pillowcase and pillow and basic quilting projects with Rising Star students. Through the process the students have learned about planning a project, selecting fabrics/patterns, and the sewing process. These projects look great!!! October 21st Fall Festival In the Park
October 21 has been is the 2023 FALL FESTIVAL in the park on Hwy. 36 in Rising Star, 10 AM to 4 PM. FUN things to do are planned such as Photo Booth, cake walk, music, corn hole, face painting, jewelry, air fresheners, candy, wind chimes and a special pecan pie contest. Other goods may be sold as well.

Pirates rally past Gorman, 70-44
By Tommy Wells The Perrin-Whitt Pirates scores six times in the third quarter on Friday and rallied to claim a wild 70-44 comefrom- behind win over the Gorman Panthers in District 6-A action. The Pirates had trailed at the half by a 24-21 clip.

Cisco College in ESPN’s “Game of the Week”
When the Cisco College Wranglers met the New Mexico MIlitary Institute Broncos in Roswell Saturday for the ESPN “Game of the Week,” not even the ESPN announcers could have predicted that the Wranglers would walk away with a 21-10 victory, as the announcers admitted over the air.

Bobcats deal Ranger third straight loss, 56-26
The Bluff Dale Bobcats scored twice in the final 5 minutes of the third quarter to break open a tight affair on Friday and then held on to claim a 56-26 victory over the Ranger Bulldogs in front of a small crowd at O.C. Warden Stadium.

Are You Ready? 14 Amendments on the Nov. 7 Ballot
Asking a fellow Texan if they have read the Texas constitution in its entirety usually yields a hard no, perhaps because its printed form fills over two hundred pages. In the upcoming election on November 7, Texans have an opportunity to add to the constitution through popular vote. The fourteen proposed amendments cover a wide variety of things from wealth tax restrictions to allowing Galveston county to abolish the office of county treasurer.
